Sometimes we receive a project that’s so stellar, we have to dedicate an entire post to it. This is one of those posts! Feast your eyes on the beautiful work of J and G Design of New York City, who have masterfully integrated kitchen, dining and living areas into a single, spacious light-filled room. It looks gorgeous in a long shot, but it’s the attention to detail and amazing mix of color and material that sets this room apart.
The airy kitchen is separated from the rest of the room with a Pebble-topped breakfast bar. White, silver and grey create a contrast to the colorful scheme of the living area, but the playful pop of red on the range is a great extra touch.
The textured walls are a perfect complement to the curtains, while the Pebble counters pick up the hints of grey and blue in the design.
Turning around we find a very inviting lounging area with soft blue upholstered chairs, seating around the fireplace and lots of throw funky pillows to match the colorful rug. Very rarely are we lost for words, but this design is practically flawless.
We love when designers create vignettes out of books that are both stylish but also accessible. These books are definitely for reading, not just for décor.
A second living area is located just behind the first. With the exposed brick walls, classic modern furnishings and, this is sort of industrial yet cozy take on mid-century modern.
Those details, though! Simply drool-worthy.
As much as we love the rest of this room, the dining area is truly a star. Mismatched chairs and a natural wooden table have an organic, boho feel while the lighting design and art choices add upscale sophistication.
When we look from above, it’s easier to see how effortlessly this design flows from one area to the next. No doubt about it, this is an absolutely fabulous home from J and G Design. So…when can we move in?
