Kitchen Transformation: Painting Your Cabinets for a Fresh Look

Do you ever search for kitchens on Pinterest and find that you’re drooling over the many beautiful options from all over the world? I know for me, personally, I am itching to redo our kitchen, but we are renting so I can’t do much for now. However, that doesn’t stop me from dreaming about the day when I can design my own kitchen.
The easiest way to transform a kitchen is by painting the cabinets. When done right, it can take your kitchen from being mediocre to chic. I am especially loving the two-toned color trend we are seeing. By simply painting the upper cabinets one color and the lower cabinets another color, you can create a very cool space.
White cabinets are timeless and they will always be welcomed. The best part about them is how much they lighten up a kitchen. Victoria from Sfgirlbybay transformed her kitchen by simply painting the cabinets white and adding new hardware. A quick tip for painting kitchen cabinets is to always use semi-gloss paint so that they are easy to wipe.

I’ve also been seeing a lot of green cabinetry in kitchens lately. I personally love mint and celadon green. But if you want to go darker, try olive green; it’s a soothing, moody green. Remember, if you get tired of the color, you can always paint right over it!

Would you rather paint your cabinets yourself or hire out?
