Nothing is more cozy than a Scandinavian inspired space. The mixture of textures and materials make these rooms inviting and warm. It is a design movement characterized by simplicity, balance, minimalism, and functionality. I especially appreciate Scandinavian inspired dining rooms. I can imagine spending hours in these rooms with friends and family, enjoying great food and good conversation. You won’t find a lot of overwhelming colors in these spaces, but that’s ok. They feel sophisticated and mature with their neutral palettes.

In the dining room above, the industrial wooden table is flanked with plastic metal chairs. The two large pendants over the table give off a dramatic feel.
Neutral Woods and White Walls

The combination of neutral woods against white walls makes for a stunning space. You wouldn’t think that it could be as striking as it is. You don’t always need a contrasting color to create drama. Notice that the ceramics and dishes are all simple and practical. Placed in a collection, they look super high end.

This dining space is family friendly and full of unexpected touches. The mix-matched chairs go well together, mostly because they are both white and modern. And the bench gives more seating and blends well with the whole space. The tablecloth gives the space a pop of pattern and color and the two simple pendants give off style and light. You could say that this space is playful.
Balanced Dining Room
I’ve saved my favorite room for last! Any room with a pop of sheepskin is a winner in my book. If you want to instantly warm up your dining room for the winter, add sheepskins to your chairs. Your guests will thank you. This space has a great balance of wood, white, black, and metal. The pendant light adds a modern touch to the entire space and the black cabinet feels more industrial.
