How to Style Your Bathroom

Bathrooms have come a long way from colorful Formica and fluffy toilet seat covers (you know that you had one of those in the 80’s). Today we see more soothing, spa-like bathrooms. Neutral tones that create a very simplistic look. The term “less is more” has really become true for the bathroom. The last few bathrooms that I have personally designed, we used a mix of whites, greys, and natural wood tones. This scheme makes room to add color in the linens and plants. I’ve got some more bathroom tips for you to take your bathroom from average to awesome.

1. White tile never gets old. It really really doesn’t! You can pair it with a patterned floor tile for more interest, or you can keep the room simple and use wood tones and greenery to create a bright, clean space.

2. Style with natural elements. Plants look stunning in a bathroom. Plus they help with adding oxygen! Also, natural wooden brushes and other wooden accessories add to that natural spa look that we all love!

3. Art is welcome. If you want to take your bathroom from OK to fabulous, add a few pieces of art. It creates a very mature feel, without taking away from the cleanliness of a bathroom. If you want to keep your bathroom feeling neutral, choose neutral art pieces.

4. Style with beautiful bottles. I have bought so many bottles simply for the branding. I view them as a bathroom necessity. They add beautiful design to any counter or window ledge. And if you hate the product itself, simply fill the bottle with something that you love.
