Imagine starting a blog from the comfort of your bed then expanding it into a business in just a few years. Sounds like a dream right? This dream became a reality for fashion blogger and interior designer Aimee Song. She now runs her blog, Song of Style, from the comfort of her office, which happens to be a home! Today we take a tour of her favorite room- the kitchen!
The kitchen needed a complete renovation. Going into it, Aimee knew she wanted a matte black faucet- the perfect contrast to grey cabinets and subway backsplash. Not all elements fit the space easily however. Aimee was set on adding a farmhouse sink but needed to find a cabinet that was sturdy enough to support the sink and fit the space. To do so, she purchased a wall cabinet she had to modify and add a filler.
Knowing that people would constantly be moving in and out of the space, Aimee needed a countertop that’s as durable as it is pretty. Since marble is very porous and stains easily, Aimee picked Noble Grey for the counters and waterfall edge island. Now she doesn’t have to worry about stains or chips while making herself avocado toast!
No design is complete without a pop of color! Before all else, Aimee installed the patterned blue tile she originally found on Pinterest. She also put her DIY skills to work by replacing the bench seating’s green vinyl with cushions she made from foam pads and fabrics she found at a flea market (the vendor gets them directly from Africa!)
With a kitchen like this- you can find us working from home every day!
