Neutral Outdoor Throw Pillows

It’s officially September and I’m wondering where summer went! Although I am ready for fall, I fully plan to take advantage of my backyard until it absolutely gets too cold. If you’re also not quite ready to let summer go, but are eager to welcome fall, this seasonal transition can be tough from a decor perspective. It’s still hot outside, but everyone’s mind is on fall and the changing of seasons. One way I’ll be easing my backyard into September is by switching out a few pillow covers. Out with the brights and in with the neutrals! I’m sharing a roundup of 20(!) of my favorite neutral outdoor pillows.

Luckily, outdoor textiles and fabric technology has completely evolved over time. These days, outdoor pillows don’t feel scratchy, stiff, or uncomfortable. In fact, often times I recommend outdoor fabrics for indoors as well! Clients with kids or pets often prefer durability, and luckily that doesn’t mean compromising style or comfort.
Which options from the roundup are you feeling? I’m partial to the ones with tassels, fringe, or a border detail. I’ve been all about simple texture and subtle pattern lately.

As it continues to get cooler outside, I’ll pile on more blankets and throws… but for now, a pillow swap is totally sufficient! For more of this particular space, check out this client’s amazing covered living space.

Does anyone else use outdoor cushions or fabrics indoors? I’m a big fan! I’d also love to hear how you transition your outdoor space for each season. Happy September! Everyone have an amazing holiday weekend. I hope you’re able to spend it outside amongst beautiful decor and outdoor friendly fabrics.
