Designer Spotlight | [Strang] Architecture

by ·

[STRANG] Architecture is a Miami-based architecture firm well known for its pre-eminent modernist design. Founded by Max Strang in 1998, the firm has received many awards in addition to international acclaim for impeccable style and energy efficient strategies.

While the vast majority of the firm's projects are located in the Greater Miami area, it also has projects underway in Fort Lauderdale, The Florida Keys, Central Florida, the Bahamas, Costa Rica and Colorado. Adapting their design by the surrounding area as well as individual clients’ needs make every custom design truly singular.

This residence is a light-filled and transparent arrangement of living spaces with expansive views of Biscayne Bay.  The south-facing residence employs various sun-shading strategies such as dynamic cantilevers and louvered walls to adapt the home to its subtropical setting.

Pure White countertops perfectly suit the monochromatic interior and exterior (first image), which invites the water-views and light to naturally shine through as the main attraction.

Located on a picturesque lake in Central Florida, this home incorporates important “passive” environmental design concepts that result in abundant day-lighting and cross-ventilation potential. Generous eight-foot overhangs shelter the walls of glass from the Florida sun and a narrow courtyard amplifies the arrival experience and creates privacy.

This open-plan kitchen space utilizes Pure White countertops on the two spacious kitchen islands. Enclosed storage and Ghost Chairs add to the minimalistic style in a subtle statement. Light floods the rooms from front to back with floor to wall windows on each side of the one-story home.
