Sydne Summer’s Bathroom Reveal

I loved almost everything in my condo when I first moved in... except my bathrooms. The black marble and brown tile never felt like me. I just never did anything about it until I decided to do a full renovation ten years later. I've always loved the feeling of hotel bathrooms. There is something so clean and refreshing about white stones, tiles and shiny chrome accents. It's what I envisioned for my master bathroom and powder room.

I originally was going to buy vanities but I couldn't find any I liked. And I was too scared to order such an important piece online without seeing it first. The veins in marble can look so different in real life then they do online! So after I decided to use Caesarstone Statuario Maximus in my kitchen, I decided it would be perfect to carry through to the bathrooms. It makes the space feel cohesive. And like I say with fashion, if you love a piece so much, there's no harm of having it in multiples!

I worked with my designer, Jean Luxe, to create semi-custom vanities with the quartz. We mixed chrome handles with crystal for the cabinets. Then mixed and matched various glass and stone patterns for the flooring and decorative wall. In the powder room, I did a shimmer wallpaper that feels like a continuation of the quartz.

My favorite part is, like my kitchen counters, I don't have to worry about spilling. If my makeup or toothpaste gets on my new vanities, it's so easy to wipe off!

Sydne Summer’s Kitchen Reveal

After living in my condo for ten years, it was time for a refresh. My goal for the renovation was to create a serene space where I could live and shoot for my blog, Sydne Style, and YouTube channel.

I knew I wanted my kitchen to be all white and marble. What I didn't know was how difficult marble is to clean! My friend told me about quartz and I knew it was the perfect solution. I went with my designer, Jean Luxe, to look at different quartz options and we both fell in love with Caesarstone Statuario Maximus. It was the crisp, white feel I was looking for with just the right amount of soft gray veining. I originally wanted a tile or stone pattern backsplash in the kitchen but the quartz was so gorgeous that we decided to bring it all the way up from the countertops to the cabinetry.

The biggest change, aside from changing my black and brown kitchen to all white, was leveling out the kitchen island. Previously it had a small raised area that didn't fit much more than a glass of wine. My designer had the brilliant idea of creating one level for a totally open space. I didn't want anything to distract from the clean white countertop so I made, what I was told was an interesting choice, with my stove top: white! It's not very common but I'm so happy with the way it looks.

My entire apartment has a white and mixed metals theme with a touch of blush. So to contrast the silver appliances, I added rose gold and copper accents around the kitchen. It's now become my favorite place to entertain. My friends come over and we sit on my lucite stools, having a glass of wine on the countertops. The best part? I don't have to worry if they spill. I just wipe off the quartz and it's as good as new.
