Not Your Typical Home Accessories

by ·

We all have an image we think of when we think about home accessories. When you think about curtains, they're just that--curtains, fabric covering the wall. One of my favorite things to do is use something unique for these everyday items. Here are some of my favorite ideas.

Bed Canopy:

This bed canopy is the perfect way to make something that is usually very feminine a little more industrial. I even love the idea of using plumbing pipes as a clothing rack.

If you're patriotic for a certain country, whether it's your home country or just a personal favorite, a really cool way to make a curtain is from a vintage flag.

This colorful, geometric bookshelf is one of my favorites. I love the idea of color coordinating the books as well.

You don't have to own a cupcake shop to have fun stools. Mix and match your favorite treats for a super awesome place to sit.

I love how comfortable and inviting this bathtub looks, even though it has a cement look. The elegant candles and cement look wouldn't necessarily be paired together normally, but I think the combination gives off the perfect feel.

What are your favorite ways to make an accessory unique?
