There’s nothing like art to enhance a space and infuse it with energy. A carefully selected painting in an otherwise boring and drab environment can bring it to life and add a much-needed conversation piece. Several websites, like art.com and society6.com, have made it easy for artists of all kinds to create and sell their artwork and, because of the digital nature, some of them lean toward graphic artwork. That, combined with a minimalist aesthetic, makes graphic art the perfect medium for modern day expression. Here are some ways to incorporate graphic artwork into your space.
- Set it in simple frames. This gallery wall has a Scandinavian feeling, with its clean lines and sparse décor. The graphic poster of the Swedish alphabet is a popular design and perfect for enhancing the aesthetic. The collection of graphic posters is set in similarly styled black frames to keep it clean and simple.
- Hang a piece of bold fabric. This piece is actually a vintage image from the ‘70s and proves that most trends recycle. A Marimekko fabric is hung from the wall and nicely complements the existing color palette. Because the pattern of the fabric is so large in scale, it instantly becomes a focal point.
- Mix and match. If you have a collection of posters and other pieces of graphic artwork, don’t be afraid to display them together in different frames. Here they opted to place the pieces on furniture versus on the walls, making it easier for guests to admire.
- Graphic walls. In addition to graphic artwork, try a graphic wall too. The double patterns create an interesting backdrop and make everything feel cohesive.
