Adding Stripes in the Bedroom

When considering what pattern to decorate with in the bedroom, florals tend to come to mind for more traditional spaces. Men usually don’t like this trend, unless it’s a modern take on a flower. But a pattern that can satisfy anyone – male or female, young or old – is the classic stripe. It’s been around forever and there’s a reason for that. It lends well to a modern space as well as a classic space. And another awesome fact about the stripe? It can be paired with just about any other pattern. So naturally, it’s a perfect option for the bedroom.

The serene bedroom above has a pop of stripes. With only a splash, it still makes for a great statement in the sea of white and wood.

For those who don’t want to commit permanently to a pattern, try adding the stripes in a blanket or pillow. This black, white, and wood bedroom has the ability to invite any pattern, and the stripe looks perfect on the bed itself.

Adding stripes to the wall can create instant style. You can either add striped wallpaper, or paint stripes yourself by taping the stripes on and painting in between each panel. If you do decide to add stripes to your wall, stay away from adding them anywhere else so that the design doesn’t go overboard.

The easiest and most accessible way of adding stripes to your bedroom is by adding a striped rug. Most rug retailers carry stripes, and you can find them in all types of colors and sizes. It’s such a pretty detail to add to any bedroom!

Are you a fan of stripes? Would you add them to your bedroom?
