Modern Meets Classic with Black and White Rugs

by ·

Black and white in the home is for me, a go to. It's quite easy to create a home that's both modern and classic, while bringing in all the beautiful colors you like to fill your space with. No matter what style a room is, you can usually always find a place to add some black and white, whether it's the main color theme or a single piece and rugs are one of my favorite way to do it.

If your style is mainly sleek and smooth, don't be afraid to add some texture to the mix. You can gain some personality just by adding one piece that has a different feel from the rest of the room.

Just because your room is predominantly brown, doesn't mean there isn't a place for some black and white--black and white can be neutrals as well. Even just one accent piece can add to the room without drawing too much attention from the rest of the room's natural beauty.

The combination of this mid century furniture and glassware wouldn't have been paired with a black and white rug in the 60s, but today it's a perfect way to keep a retro inspired look feeling fresh.

So tell us, are you a fan of adding a black and white accent rug?
