Four Point Design and Build | Frosty Carrina

One day you’re in, and the next day you’re out. That’s just the way trends work. But when designing a kitchen, you want a design that lasts. During #kbtribechat the design community shared what trends make up their perfect kitchen. Explore our kitchen crushes:

If you could design your dream kitchen, what would it look like?

Our dream kitchen would be any design by Timber Trails Development Company. Just look at this beauty with London Grey counters or explore their Designer Spotlight!

What style trends are you crushing on that you didn’t three years ago?

We are crushing on the writable-surfaces trend, like adding a chalkboard wall in the kitchen. It’s the best way to keep track of meal plans, grocery lists, or keep the kids busy while cooking. This Sweeten kitchen is complete with Statuario Nuvo counters.

2018 has seen its share of colors of the year – from Ultra Violet, to Hot Red to Oceanside. Do these colors really affect kitchen design? In what ways do you incorporate color in the kitchen to stay on trend, and yet be timeless?

Featured colors breed inspiration and give attention to otherwise forgotten colors. To inspire designers with bold and neutral hues, we have created a Perfect Pairings Guide. Backsplashes allow you to get creative with color and style, much like JMorris Design who used Moroccan tiles and Pure White countertops for this bright design.

What are the most prevalent finishes in appliances today?  Are your projects leaning more towards color or is Stainless still King?

Stainless steel is still king, but we’re seeing designers branching into antique and colorful appliances like this one in Brittany Pigorini’s kitchen with Pure White. Learn more about her kitchen renovation with Claire Zinnecker in Brittany’s House Reveal.

Function or Color/Design: Which is more important?

Function and color go hand-in-hand! Quartz countertops are durable and easy to clean while are also available in a wide variety of colors. PS & Daughters chose both Raven and Pure White for this kitchen design.

How do you incorporate function into a design for clients who love to cook?

It all begins with the surface. If you have a good countertop, cooking becomes a breeze! If you don’t believe us, just ask The Feed Feed who installed Rugged Concrete in their test kitchen!

We all know that a range is an important ingredient in any chef’s kitchen, but what about the refrigerator? How important is the fridge?

We say the bigger the fridge, the happier the kitchen! Just imagine how much food is stored in this Resolution: 4 Architecture kitchen with Blizzard counters.
