Trends come and go, but certain designs stay classic through thick and thin. A classic look that never feels outdated is the white kitchen. It’s timeless! It can translate into Traditional, Modern and Transitional design, to name a few. It’s a look that feels fresh and clean but can sometimes become blah. I have a few tricks of the trade to keep your white kitchen from looking boring or sterile.

  1. Choose the right flooring. If you pick something with warm and rich tones, all of a sudden your kitchen feels warm and rich. If you’re wanting a more Scandinavian look, choose a light floor. And if you need some pattern in your life, patterned tiles look beautiful against white cabinets.

  1. Your backsplash makes all the difference. I’m still a sucker for subway tiles with black grout. Especially when it comes to white kitchens! It just looks so stylish. When you use white grout, the look becomes a little more traditional, which is beautiful too!

  1. MARBLE! Nothing looks more luxurious against white cabinets than marble. The combo is a match made in heaven. Use it on your counters and/or backsplash. You can also use it in your decor by displaying marble cutting boards and marble bowls.

  1. Choose lighting that makes a statement. Because a white kitchen is naturally neutral, adding statement lighting can be a beautiful thing. For a relaxed but gorgeous look, anything rattan against white cabinets looks great. Choosing larger sizes over your island is a must. Make your white kitchen the envy of everyone in town!
