Garance Doré's Kitchen Reveal

by ·

Welcome to the newly renovated and airy kitchen of Garance Doré, the critically acclaimed French writer, photographer, style icon and Chief Creative Officer of Atelier Doré. “I dreamed of a white, luminous kitchen, pure but classic–with a hint of a professional kitchen,” says Doré. Doré worked with interior designer Sarah Sherman Samuel to create an interior space that felt soft, feminine and comfortable.

Large kitchen windows were installed to let in the warm light of the California sun. All of the materials used in the kitchen are completely devoid of shine, which prevents any potential glare and adds to the relaxed and welcoming tone of the design. The terracotta pendants above the kitchen island bring depth and nuance to the space.

“There’s a richness to matte finishes, like honed quartz,” says Samuel, who used Statuario Nuvo Honed on the countertops and kitchen island. Her signature palette of soft whites, blonde woods and earthy neutrals is reflected throughout the kitchen.

One thing is certain: Doré and Samuel have masterfully created a calm, clean and beachy kitchen perfect for both entertaining and relaxing with a cup of tea in the mornings.
