House Tour | Balodemas Architects

by ·

We enter through a cherry red front door into the brainchild of Balodemas Architects, a design firm with creative, modern solutions for each client ranging from businesses, government agencies, developers, and in this case a lucky homeowner.

Graphic patterns, bold textures, and even bolder colors set this entrance apart as a Balodemas design. Honoring the history of the home, the stairs are updated but much of the mid-century modern elements stay, infusing the space with character and unexpected surprises.

Unexpected surprise #1: a mirrored light installation and ceramic horse. Somehow, these two pieces blend seamlessly! This entrance is a sure-fire conversation starter.

Lovely surprise #2: THIS chandelier and the giraffe lamp! Interior design lesson learned – if all else fails, use an intricate light fixture and animal art piece to spice up the space.

Though the dining room is open to the kitchen and living room, the space feels all its own with a graphic rug and statement gallery wall solidifying the boundaries.

On the other side of the vaulted ceiling sits the cozy living room, ready to seat the whole family! The U-shaped couch has enough room for everyone.

Finally, onto the kitchen (our personal favorite space, for obvious reasons).

An ode to mid-century modern, this kitchen keeps it simple yet modern with quirky stools and fun kitchen pendants partnered with sleek cabinetry and Blizzard countertops.

Unexpected surprise #3: the open shelf inset into the cabinetry for that WOW effect.

Onto the upstairs, where colors delight and chandelier choice continue to amaze us.

We love this alternative kid’s room design, blending traditional colors with new patterns and applications.

Colorful surprise #4 (we’re losing count!): pop of coral wallpaper inside the closet.

Balodemas Architects kept us on our toes with each room, honoring the beauty of the original footprint and design while updating the entire home with modern appeal.

We hope to see many more little red doors from Balodemas Architects!
