How to Create the Perfect Reading Nook

There is something so romantic and picturesque about reading a good book on a cold, fall day. In fact, I start reading novels around September, October. I feel like I have no time to read in the summer, but when fall hits, I become a book worm. Creating a reading nook can be an easy task. All you need is a corner, comfy chair, a good floor lamp and a place to hold your books and maybe a beverage. When creating your reading nook, remember that you need soft textiles to curl up with.

If you have an alcove of some sort, create the perfect cozy space to lounge. Place floor pillows or a floor mattress and fill it with pillows and blankets. You can also keep it simple with one floor pad and a pillow to rest on. An amazing view to match the space isn’t a bad thing.

I tend to read near a window. I love seeing my surroundings, especially during the fall and winter when leaves are changing colors and snow is starting to fall. A great accessory to add is a sheepskin throw. It will keep your warm and cozy!

Window benches are perfect for reading nooks. Add a few pillows, a throw blanket and a nice wall mounted light or floor lamp.

Remember, the cozier the better so use lots of warm patterns and textures! Add candles and greenery for some perfect ambience.
