Sleek and contemporary, with a bold geometric façade, The Aaron – located at 236 17th Street in South Park Slope, Brooklyn – offers a collection of distinctive condominium residences.  The building’s name commemorates a local retail landmark, Aaron’s Department Store, which stood across the street for more than 40 years.  Created by the internationally-renowned firm of Tom Winter Architects, The Aaron’s design is influenced by the serenity of nature.  A limited selection of 17 one- two- and three-bedroom homes are now for sale through Citi Habitats New Developments, the building’s exclusive marketing agent.

The Posthouse – A Modern Take on Classic Brooklyn

Located in historic Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, The Posthouse offers sophisticated rental residences that blend classic industrial-inspired design with 21-century convenience.  This new 8-story building stands on the site of a former post office and is home to 143 apartments. With a location on one of the neighborhood’s main retail corridors, Myrtle Avenue, The Posthouse is surrounded by a variety of boutiques, bars and restaurants.

In addition, the renowned Pratt Institute is situated just south of The Posthouse.  Founded in 1887, Pratt is one of the nation’s leading schools focused on the arts and architecture.  The college is also notable for being one of the first in the country to admit students without regard to class, color, and gender – which it has done since its inception.  Pratt is also home to its famous Sculpture Park.  Open to all, this is the largest outdoor collection of contemporary sculpture in New York City.

However, The Posthouse offers more to residents than just a prime location.  Completed in 2017, the building was developed by Madison Realty Capital.  It features a distinctive façade of warm grey brick lined with traditional mullioned windows and contrasting all-glass sections at the entry and top floors.  The end result is a modern interpretation of classic Brooklyn industrial architecture.

Inside, The Posthouse offers a collection of studio, one- and two-bedroom homes currently available for lease through Citi Habitats New Developments.  The residences were artfully designed by Cl-oth Interiors, a noted design firm based out of Bushwick, Brooklyn.

All apartments include custom all-white designer kitchens, complete with top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances by Blomberg, Bosch and Whirlpool.  Caesarstone ‘Classico Collection’ quartz countertops in a deep ‘Raven’ color are the perfect contrast to the white cabinetry, and backsplashes are clad in Carrara marble.

Baths at The Posthouse also incorporate a timeless black and white color scheme and are accented by contemporary stainless-steel fixtures and dark grey hexagonal tile flooring. Walls feature white subway tile with contrasting black grout creating a striking modern look.  Deep soaking tubs and apron sinks cradled by ebony-toned wood vanities are also key design components.

In addition, residences include natural wood flooring throughout, in-unit washer/dryers and individually-controlled heat and A/C.  Select homes are also complete with private terraces.

Designed to help residents recharge and unwind, The Posthouse includes a comprehensive amenity package for residents.  Perfect for entertaining or simply relaxing, the residents’ lounge is a plush retreat.  The on-site fitness center is state-of-the-art and the landscaped roof deck is the perfect place to spend a lazy summer afternoon.  This spectacular oasis also provides breathtaking city views of both Brooklyn rooftops and the imposing lower Manhattan skyline.

Clinton Hill is one of Brooklyn’s most architecturally-significant areas, with an eclectic mix of iconic Brooklyn brownstones, red brick townhouses and ornate Victorian mansions.  With easy access to the G, A and C trains, all of New York City is easily accessible.  Nevertheless, because of all the local community has to offer, residents at The Posthouse often find Clinton Hill hard to leave.

New Life For A Brooklyn Retail Landmark

Reimagined by GreenbergFarrow Architecture for developer United American Land, The Offerman House is a unique luxury loft rental community located in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn.  Constructed in 1893, the building is considered a prime example of Romanesque Revival architecture.  The landmarked historic facades on Fulton and Duffield Streets are clad with limestone, buff colored brick and terra cotta.

The Offerman House is a true piece of Brooklyn history. The building takes its name from its builder, Henry Offerman, the president of the Brooklyn Sugar Refining Company.  It has been home to a variety of retailers over the years, starting with the S. Wechsler & Brother dry goods store, which specialized in raw fabric, clothing and other textiles.

However, Martin’s Department Store was the building’s most notable tenant.  This store occupied the building for over 50 years - from 1924 to 1979.  During the 1960’s, Martin’s sold more wedding gowns than any other vendor in the country.

Today, The Offerman House has been reborn as 121 studio, one, two and three-bedroom homes, now available for lease through Citi Habitats New Developments.  These residential lofts were inspired by the building’s commercial roots, and offer spacious open floorplans, oversized floor-to-ceiling windows, ceiling heights over 15 feet and raised platform bedrooms.

In contrast to the ornate exterior, interior finishes are sleek and modern and were chosen to complement the unique architectural detail in each home.  Kitchens are complete with a full stainless-steel appliance package, custom pendant lighting and ‘Misty Carrera’ Caesarstone quartz countertops and backsplash.

A full suite of amenities was designed to foster a sense of communal living.  The lobby’s mezzanine level boasts a residents’ co-working lounge and party room with kitchen.  There is also a state-of-the-art fitness center and 10-seat theatre room - perfect for late-night movie marathons with friends and fellow tenants.

The spectacular ‘Top of the House’ roof terrace is the building’s crown jewel.  This private park is an escape from the action below and offers sweeping views of Downtown Brooklyn and the Manhattan skyline.  A fire pit, two grill areas with communal dining tables and a selection of private cabanas make it the perfect place for warm-weather entertaining.  An outdoor movie screen is flanked by a green wall and faces the rooftop’s great lawn.  Accessible via a ramped walkway, the upper terrace is a place to unwind.  It features a natural meadow with ornamental grasses and lounging hammocks.

One of Brooklyn’s most distinctive residential buildings, The Offerman House respects its rich architectural history.  Meanwhile, the residences and amenities are tailored to the way today’s New Yorkers live and provide the ultimate 21st-century urban lifestyle.
