What do you do when you’re living on Southern California’s coast and need a fresh home design? Call Melissa Morgan Design! With over ten years of experience working in Orange County, Melissa has become one of Southern California’s premier interior designers. The boutique design firm has developed a reputation for luxury coastal contemporary design complete with knowledge of construction, use of emerging hard finishes, and an eye for trends. With this first kitchen, we can see why!

The goal of this home: clean, cozy, and coastal. To do so, they implemented large windows throughout to bring in natural light. Morgan’s focus was to splurge on high-end fixtures and minimal furniture to keep the space feeling open. The chef’s kitchen features a large island with a Blizzard waterfall edge. But that’s not the only one…

Happy hour anyone? As you enter the home through a ten-foot-tall door entry, you are greeted by a temperature controlled wine fridge with a large Blizzard island matching the kitchen.

Time for a beach day! Morgan styled this modern bungalow with light colors and clean lines to make it feel open and airy. The kitchen features both Caesarstone Haze and Blizzard countertops to complement the white cabinets and stainless-steel appliances.

Not far from the beach, we come to this single-story estate designed for classic luxury living. Morgan designed custom built cabinetry for the gourmet kitchen, butler’s pantry, and bar. For durability, she chose Blizzard countertops on the island and Carrera marble for the perimeter. Morgan put every space to use by adding storage under the island and above the stove.

Morgan extended the kitchen’s design elements to the master bath. The double-sink vanity features Blizzard countertops and matching white cabinets. The magazine-worthy shower includes not one but two shower heads!

Do you see what we see? A Blizzard bench! Morgan added the pop of white to create the ultimate luxury shower.

Morgan was tasked with this ground-up construction for Bachelor beach-style living. To do so, she incorporated masculine colors into the flooring and furniture selection to find the right balance of “tall, dark, and handsome”. As the space was small, Morgan added a stove to the Blizzard island to maximize counter space.

Our favorite feature of the home- a Blizzard surrounded tub. Just imagine laying in the sand by day then a slick bath at night.

The home features silver travertine floors, white plumbing fixtures, and light colors. All 3.5 baths include Blizzard counters.

Here Morgan took a more contemporary- eclectic approach to design. The dark cabinetry is kept light with Pure White counters and clear light fixtures and bar stools. The exposed beams perfectly complement the space and create a separation between the kitchen and the rest of the open space.

Did you notice the floors and walls are not alike? The beige tiles all come together at the grand Pure White bath. Pro-tip: Add a glass-walled shower to keep the bathroom feeling open.

We spy our favorite kitchen trend- a blue island! The light blue island topped with a butcher-block matches the faint blue subway tile backsplash and Misty Carrera perimeter. Morgan seamlessly tied in the nautical theme with a shiplap ceiling.

Simple from the top, bold from the bottom. Morgan spiced up this white boho bungalow with lime-green tiles, bright accessories, and Jet Black counters. The moveable island is a great addition to the space and doubles as a dining table.

When living in sunny SoCal, it’s a crime not to take advantage of the backyard! Morgan created a custom dining table with Pure White for the covered terrace. The fun space also includes an outdoor bar, lots of space to lounge, and benches around a fire pit.

Morgan’s work extends into commercial spaces as well. Morgan designed a flagship restaurant space that had to be unique, functional, and repeatable as it would be replicated in over 50 locations worldwide. She combined the classic printing press workshop with an authentic design for families to dine in.

We’re getting hungry just looking at the prep space! Morgan added classic Edison lights, subway tile, and period photography to set the mood. In looking for a long-lasting countertop, Morgan chose Caesarstone Blizzard.

From home to outdoor space to restaurant and beyond, Melissa Morgan Design is a California dream!
