How to Incorporate Colorful Cabinets into Your Bathroom

If you are like most homeowners or renters, your desire for great design and your budget don’t always line up. I’ve lived in a few homes that had great pros, but also had big cons. One major con always had to do with the bathrooms, usually in the form of ‘90s oak or ‘80s cherry. Of course my first desire was to replace the cabinets. But after looking at my budget realistically, I quickly decided that new cabinets weren’t the right answer. Enter painted cabinets.

A fresh coat of paint can instantly revive old, worn cabinets. After a good priming and painting, your bathroom will look good as new. And what colors should you consider? Bright, cheery colors are in trend right now. And with paint, once you’ve grown tired of a color, you just re-paint.

When you are working with neutral materials, a bright color will pop and give your bathroom personality. Above we see that they chose a kelly green to bring interest to a modern space. I swear the white towels look whiter against this bold painted cabinet.

If you want to take your cabinets a step further, paint a pattern on the cabinets. Stripes can be applied easily to a surface. I suggest picking a color strip and pairing it with a white stripe. It will look clean and crisp.

If brightly colored painted cabinets are not your thing, then go with a nice bright white. You can’t go wrong with white. Modern hardware will give the cabinets extra style and functionality. Remember that paint is only temporary. So think outside of the box and have fun!

Which color would you go with for your painted cabinets?
