Modern Breakfast Nooks

I live in a 1947 brick bungalow with a small eating area. And when I say small, I mean SMALL! It’s narrow and only allows for a few chairs. So I’m constantly looking for inspiring modern, nook spaces. You can create something special in a breakfast nook. All it takes is smaller scaled, timeless pieces. One of my favorite added details in a breakfast nook is a built in bench. It gives way more seating and doesn’t take up too much space.

Painting your nook a dark color will give it instant style and drama. I love using dark charcoal, navy blue or black. It’s so pretty mixed with white or light pieces of furniture. It also will make any wood items pop.

Small bistro tables are the perfect solution for small eating areas. Be inspired by Paris cafe’s and use cafe inspired chairs. This is the perfect excuse to shop antique or vintage.

Round tables are also a must in a small eating area. You can fit more people around the table this way. And mixing a built in bench with a round table can be the best space saver.
