House Tour | Red Lily Renovations

by ·

What started as a DIY home built by the owners 15 years ago, transitioned into a beautifully upgraded house to reflect the owners growing family, evolving taste, and renovation needs.

“The home we built was not the home it was intended to be. It really needed a makeover,” said homeowner, Tanya.

Completed in just seven short weeks, Red Lily Renovations helped the family of six expand their home and repurpose lost space. Located down under (Australia), Red Lily Renovations is a boutique home renovation and design agency specializing in creating spaces that are perfectly planned and well-thought out.

We certainly see their specialty in the new kitchen design!

The client wanted a kitchen that could be the hub of the home – an open, inviting, spacious room the whole family (all six of them!) could gather in. Red Lily Renovations created an open kitchen that is both beautiful and highly functional.

The whole family can gather around this enormous Clamshell island. The long slab provides space for cooking, storage, and where the little ones can munch on snacks. Mixing contemporary and Scandinavian minimalism, the kitchen is now the most beautiful and busiest space in the home.

Keeping the minimalistic style in mind, Red Lily Renovations installed custom cabinetry and pull-out drawers to add storage to the kitchen and hide everyday clutter like appliances. The Blizzard perimeter counters are uninterrupted, except for the occasional plant and beautiful stove top.

The kitchen opens to the living room, where the clutter-free trend continues. With a family of six, we are just as surprised as you that the house is this orderly!

The laundry room was an important piece in the renovation – clever storage hacks hid the mess and kept the space minimal and clean. Tre-Scandinavian!

We love interesting pendants (if you couldn’t already tell from this article), especially when materials are mixed like this concrete and copper light fixture. Scandinavian style is all about blending neutrals in an interesting way!

The bathroom was completely renovated to take the hassle out of cleaning the space and maintain simple lines and materials throughout. Plus, when you have four kids, a free-standing tub is a must!

Even the floating vanity was designed to keep the space easy to clean and open.

This family of six needed a major upgrade – from a functional standpoint and aesthetically. Luckily, Red Lily Renovations came to the rescue and create their dream home:

“Jolene absolutely thought of every little detail. From stylish, but easy to remove and clean, floor drainage, to the colour of our beautiful (massive) stone bench top. For a busy mum of four kids, this may sound trivial, but it really makes a difference.”
